Please post up options for removing and reinstalling the front fairing emblem. I am going to replace the lower right fairing so I want to know if removal and installation of the emblem is possible. Options might be yer a damn fool and buy a new one to some good ideas!
Here is a photo the emblem:

Dental floss, get it behind it and saw back and forth. The entire back is adhesive, and good adhesive. Goof off or some adhesive remover would help too.

Don't know how thick it is or if it is recessed, but thin monofilament fishing line is often effective to "saw" through the adhesive. Will work better if warmed with a hair dryer (not a heat gun unless you are very careful).
(or dental floss, as mentioned above)
3M 2-sided emblem tape is usually a good bet for installing new.

Warm carefully with several passes of a blowtorch. Hold in place if you want it off faster.

I would think dental floss or mono could possibly break too easily. I would try some braided fishing line. Just my 2cents.

Good luck. Have you priced a new one? Ridiculous! If you do need a new one I may have one I can part with. I'll have to check my parts warehouse (garage).

Yep the emblem is $60 at RockyMt and $45 on Ebay. If you got a new one let's talk. The dental floss I have breaks just flossing so something thin and strong is needed.

Just heat it up a bit and pry up a corner to start peeling it off...... with a dull putty knife or plastic body filler applicator er sumthin under it. Heat the adhesive side when you get it peeled up enough. Just don't grab one end and peel it off..... Naptha or mineral spirits to soften the adhesive. WD40 is mostly naptha. Wipe clean with alcohol before sticking on with 3M molding tape.

Fontanaman,
For a cutting line that won't break, try sawing with upholstery thread. All fabric shops will have it. You can not break that thread barehanded; it will cut you to the bone first. Make "handles" using old screwdrivers or similar, to use this thread for cutting. Don't let the thread touch your skin while sawing. Old leather gloves would be good with your handles, there.
I use upholstery thread to make clothing repairs when I never want to fix that clothing item again. It works in most home sewing machines.
You can get the "outdoors" type (UV-proof) upholstery thread, for sewing cloth items exposed to the sun.
