Need to get off the new-guy list and find a forum home.. posted a few things on fjrowners and fjrforum. Got a new-to-me 2014 1300A, california model.

Bought it with a vague plan to hit all lower 48 states.. previous longest trips were a couple of 5000 mile loops to Alaska on a BMW and around the western US.

Nice, lemmie check it out, I should probably do a shake down ride - ~250 miles from here, that's a quick half day hop.

Welcome! YFO would be a great introduction to some of the wackos you’ll find here. Introduce yourself if you see my plate.

Welcome, that 250 could easily be 500 if you turn left when your supposed to turn right...or is it the other way around?

The eastern Sierra's are always worth the ride.

South bay of SF, land of office buildings and strip malls and invading your privacy. The good news is the riding gets better 10 miles away. :)

That loop will take you weeks if you stop and talk to any of us or we show you more local roads..... good to go to a few FJR gatherings to find all the characters interacting...... welcome aboard and enjoy!!

Ray you are a posting machine - you're in every thread I posted on fjrowners too.. :) I figure 3 months for a nice leisurely loop around the country, but I might break it up into multiple trips, depends a lot on where my life goes in the next couple of years.

Dem - welcome.

Adjust your loop a bit to put you my way in Cajun Country. Come between November and April and the weather will be just fine. Got a place for you to stay and a personal tour of swamp land. My '14A will compliment yours well. The others will be jealous, but stay the course, my friend. We know that the red ones are the fastest!

Oh... come hungry and thirsty too.

Los Gatos here... your route looks like a lot of fun! I did a 5+ week trip to the east coast and deep south a couple of years ago... enjoyed it so much I bought a 2nd bike that raised in Alabama so I can fly out and ride there more often. 😎
