The valve stem tends to leak unless tightened to the point where the valve stem seal sticks or is deformed at the next tire change. I don't trust the aluminum stems anymore.
Uh, you know too tight crushes the vinyl gasket and causes it to split and leak?
Yep. The trouble I am having is tightening it normally allows a leak (spit tested) so I tightened more only to cause trouble removing the valve at the next tire change. I am going back to rubber stems.

Today I rode my FJR 490 km from Spokane WA to Salmon Arm BC. Border crossing no problem. Was a fine day with blue skies and temps from 67 to 86°. Most excellent.

FJR along the Kettle River.

Rode 229 miles into South Carolina.

Scenic but not windy roads.

Had my first BBQ SC hash. Looks bad but tastes awesome.

We rode with a friend of my wife's. She has been riding since the 70s. Small woman riding a big Indian Roadmaster with ease. She told us tales of dealerships not even willing to sell her parts unless she had a dude with her back in the day. Times have changed!

Stopped to admire these towers. The only thing left from an old cotton mill.

I have learned the hard way peaches and tomatoes don't do well in saddle bags if not properly packed.
... thats why I put them in the top case!

Seriously, have too much stuff in the top case which was just right to keep things from rolling around.

Thank you! This stretch along the Kettle River road is very scenic. Been a favorite for too many years. Meaning I am old.

I have been making a personal calendars for 15 years or so. Family photos, significant trips and occasion. They make a nice Christmas gift and much more fun than sitting around a slide projector in the sixties looking a the neighbors vacation photos.

Today I am going to DreamWorks motorcycle museum then to Valemount BC.

From valemount, head down the road to Mt. Robson. Highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and, across the road is Mt. Terry Fox. It's just down the road a bit on the yellowhead.

Got 350 miles of two wheel therapy in, down to SEO...down 94 to 241 to Millersburg to 83 to 60 to 530 to 821 to Dalzell Rd. To 565 to 145 to 800 to 250 to 94 to home...if you know, you know. It was a good day.

I knew I was close to him and you. It was a weekday and really more my wife's ride. She is trying to get to know more SC and NC Motor Maids. I was just tagging along cause they were going to a highly rated BBQ joint.

I will call next time I am in your backyard. :D

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been there and the point of this trip is too go to places I have yet to see.

So tomorrow I am heading to Houston BC then the next day to Stewart BC. I hope to take a tour to see the Salmon Glacier.
