I checked my email for "FJROwners" and had to reset my password, but... I'm glad I did.
I was surprised to find a visitor message dated 06-24-2019 08:09 PM asking about shipping one of these to Australia.
Interesting.

So...
The interest from Australia and Europe has me wondering if I should ditch the JAZ 6 bolt pattern.
Also, the "Aircraft Style Flush Cap" is not without its problems. I'm considering this solution:

Thoughts?

I personally like this setup better. It still allows for a platform to strap a bag on top without having to move said bag when refueling.

Alright... Since I can't seem to leave well enough alone, I'm going to figure out the filler neck. That will mean eliminating the JAZ opening.

I'll revise the CAD model this week to work with these components:
Image

Picture this: I eliminate the current vent, larger diameter hole and 6 bolt pattern. Then, I move the 45 deg. tube closer to the rear corner and add a threaded hole in it for the vent fitting.

Image

As nice as it looks having the filler neck coming out of the corner of the tank, it adds more challenges for the fabricators.

Thoughts? Now is the time to chime-in.
Here's a link to the cap: https://www.perko.com/catalog/fuel_syst ... ted_fills/ I need to find that treaded bung again.

I updated the CAD model twice. I now have an assembly with a 45 degree filler neck coming out of the top of the tank and another version where it comes out along the the top edge. The JAZ geometry has been removed from both. I've called the fabricator and I will show them both. The version with the filler neck along the edge might not be that bad if the elbow is notched to fit over a slightly smaller hole dia.

Sorry, no screen shots to share. I need to figure out where to put photos now that I'm Moving on from Picasa.

I tried ([spoiler:] and failed) to ditch the JAZ Products necessity. I spent quite bit of time working on it during the last two days.
Hopefully, these images are visible:

Image

I tried two different approaches to making the filler neck wok on the top edge. Large cutouts in the sheets with the 45 degree pipe intact:

Image

And, a smaller opening in the tank with a notch added to the 45 degree pipe:

Image

In the end, what did this in was the added cost of materials and machining operations:

I decided against modifying the design.

I have one of your tanks and only issue I had was the cap wore out to the point I was having trouble removing it from the ring. Bought a new one and works like new. I personally like the flush mount design. my .02

Joe asked me to post up some pics of the filler cap I would have used on the tank I bought from Joe last year. I never installed the cap - sold it to the aux tank hoarder - dcarver :D

This is a JEGS screw on cap, non-vented. The holes in the flange ALLMOST lined up(would take a slight bit of filing to fit) with the holes that Joe had drilled for the other filler cap? (forgot the name)

Did you think any more about increasing the size of your vent line?

Yes. I'm going to just haven't yet. I'm also probably going to end up plumbing it into the vent system of the tank like Greg Rice did.

He might if he gets enough interest. You'd have to send him a pm.
