Fine photos there Greg!
That's what I was wondering.

Yesterday, high 70s to low 80s after a storm going through the area the day before. Today, the mid to high 80s. I'm also a little further south.

You’re going to have a hell of a time narrowing your pics down to 2 for a calendar photo for next year. I already declare you the winner before seeing your submissions from what I’ve seen so far.

Yes, it is going to be a stressful exercise. And I actually mean that. How do I pick from 40 freaking photos? Not that that's a bad problem to have......

So what is the price of a Performance Award in Montenegro? Do you get a plaque?

The Good, the bad, and the ugly, Euro style.

Oil change: $182. Most of that was for the Motul synthetic oil. Ouch!!!

Performance award in eastern Europe - Montenegro: $71 credit card payment on the spot. Cheap!

Brand new Dunlop RoadSmart 4 GTs installed at a major tire shop in Slovenia not too far from Croatian capital of Zagreb: $444. Not too bad.

More important than money, how much time did each of those take? Were you able to find fast service over there or did it go like over here and waste half to a full day for each service performed?

"Dang Officer, if I would have known it was only going to be $71, I would have gone faster"

I got lucky here. The tiny Yamaha shop was only 100 meters from where I was staying in Dubrovnik. I walked down one day and asked and he said no problem. Bring it first thing in the morning. So, I stayed another day which was good as Dubrovnik is simply awesome! Dropped it off shortly after opening. I had stuff to do anyways and about 1.5 hours later I picked it up. They also did an easy repair I needed - one of the 2 Bros slip-ons 'slipped' off the header and was making a freaking racket!

Took about 10 minutes to write and for me to provide the requested autograph. 60 euros on the spot credit card, otherwise it would have been 90 euros. Not sure if that meant following him to an ATM or what. I didn't ask. What's funny is right as I was taking the photo you saw above he started yelling, "No photos!" We won't be exchanging Christmas Cards this year. :D

Tires in Europe are weird. Frequently, shops, especially dealers don't have them in stock. I am no expert. In 2019 Stefano handled it for me and I had an appointment in Milan at a Tire shop and PR4 GTs ordered and on hand. In '21 I lucked out and the first place I checked on Corsica - a small Yamaha dealer had PR4 GTs in stock. In '23 I had tires installed by Knopf over the winter. Not cheap.

Today I had them installed at a major tire shop - mainly automotive. A forum member from FJROwners who lives in Croatia gave me the recommendation. Before that MudslideMiller had called a few Yamaha dealers for me and none had tires in stock. This tire shop I started emailing a week ago. They had PR4s and Road6 in stock as shown on their website. Ordered the RS4 for me and had them a day or two later. I was supposed to show up first thing tomorrow morning but got to the area early. I emailed them around noon and they said bring it on in. Got there at 1420 and was riding away an hour later. Easy-peasy. So, based on my limited experience, best to plan a little ahead. Find a tire shop in hopefully a bigger area, and call ahead a couple days. Having a local help with recommendations or translation is very helpful.

Btw, 7,655 miles on the RoadSmart 4s I had on that were installed in Arizona previous to riding to Orlando for shipping. About 1/3 of the wear bars were starting to show. Front and rear wore evenly and performed well. That is more miles than I typically get on a set abusing them in Europe.

And since any post in a Europe ride report thread without photos is useless here is your eye candy. This is the ride north from Montenegro back through Croatia.

Montenegro was finally the eastern European cheap I was looking for. My first night I stayed at an apartment off of a family's home that I found on Booking.com (that is what you use in Europe) that cost me $41 for the night! The nice lady/wife/grandmother of the home fed me this yummy chicken soup, olives, and bread and also two beers. The next morning I tried to pay for the meal and she wouldn't let me!

The second night in Montenegro I got an apartment off booking.com in the city of Niksic that was only $47 for the night! Since it was a weekend night this city was buzzing with folks out and enjoying the evening. I had a great pizza and two beers for a whopping $14!

More Montenegro. A nice lunch stop with the Tara River Bridge in the background. Tons of local tourism going around here with zip lines and river rafting another stuff.
