Under my 'Masterplan' to get down to only 5 FJRs I will be selling a '13 with 113k some time in the future. I'll remove almost all the farkles first. How much should I list it for? $2,000? Hoping to get at least $1,500? I have no idea.
Should be good for $2000 or maybe more, IMHO. Depends mostly on your local market. Cosmetic condition and good service/maintenance records go a long way...

I've got a line on a rebuilt starter already and I'm going to pull this one and rebuild to keep on the shelf. As far as the radiator goes I'm going to leak check it and see how bad the hole is first and then decide where to go from there.
I know that FJRob replaced the radiator on his '03 with a Chinese Ebay Special and, last I heard, it's working fine. Food for thought.

Other than fixing the radiator, for the rest of the stuff, if it can wait, c'mon up for Tech Day in October! And if you go the FJRob route and replace the radiator, have the replacement shipped here and we can get that done, too!

Skooter, you're about the first person I've seen with a reasonable expectation. When you get a bike to that kind of mileage, you lose 99% of the market looking for a bike. There are just soooo many other, lower mileage, options out there. But if you price it aggressive to sell, and it looks in decent shape, it will sell. The only problem I have is the kind of people that come to look at a $2,000 bike. I'd let it go to the first one that showed up so I didn't have to deal with the rest.

My boss had a Chrysler 300 with 168,000 miles on it. He beat the crap out of it. The dealer offered him $500 at trade in. I gave him $750. I drove it for a couple of weeks but it really was a POS. I put it on Craigslist for $3500 and my phone exploded. The people that buy $3500 cars that are beat to crap are not the cream of society. The first guy that came to look at it made my skin kind of crawl but I accepted his offer of $2,800 just to get it over with.

And @dcarver got one for his Gen II that was horrible...
Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances...

The Gen II is probably harder to fabricate because it is curved... This was a number of years ago and manufacturing may have improved. Changing out the radiator is such a pain in the ass that I wouldn't want to do it twice.

Well this is my second go at it on this bike so it should be easier this time... right!

My 07 is sitting just under 100K right now, really need to get out and push it over just because. But when I think of how much I could sell it for, I realize that I'd be letting an entire good motorcycle go for less than the price of a new set of wheels for my KTM 1190. I can't trade a whole motorcycle for wheels, that's just silly talk. I'll keep it for now and ride it when I can.

If you and Nate don't get these FJRs to 200k miles you are pussies! JSNS! :stickpoke:
That (and beyond) is my goal.

I was looking forward to breaking the 200k mark with the 15. Now I have to start ask over again. I put just shy of 500 miles on the 14 for the first ride. It's a start.
