No one has been able to replace a mirror glass to my knowledge, just post up on the forums to see if any one has a spare kicking around. Many have converted to FZ1 mirrors (or the cheaper EMGO equivalents).

About a dozen years ago, I hit a crow with my left mirror as it flew up out of a ditch and across the road. Crow did not survive and it knocked the glass out of the mirror. I found a local automotive glass shop that was able to custom cut a mirror for me that worked well (on the second attempt). (The first time, they used flat glass which restricts the view too much.) They used proper convex glass the second time. If I remember correctly, there is a soft plastic frame that fits the glass, but it is mostly held in place with adhesive.

No idea whether these places will do that anymore, but worth checking.

Apparently I have a pair of Root Beer OEM mirrors in my stash... available.

Thanks Ray. I'll keep it in mind when I get around to it, probably after I heal up from the surgery.

My FJR and Dual Sport riding season is probably over. My left shoulder hurts a bit. The less I do the less it hurts. Riding on Hwy 112, a paved goat path, along the Washington peninsula on the FJR with Scott and MediumJohn didn't help one darn bit.

Presently I am at Seabrook along the Washington coast with my wife enjoying life.

Yesterday I tried to make an appointment with a highly recommended shoulder ortho Doc to learn I need a referral. Nuts. I am nearly 70' and I don't need a referral to know I likely hurt my shoulder swinging in a lame attempt to dig out a Japanese Maple root ball. I surrendered early digging out the root ball - bullocks. A referral is just a delay. When I get home it will be off to a walk in clinic and get the darn referral. Tissue injuries heal in 4-6 weeks and I just want to know what's damaged to promote healing. With any luck I will be healed by the time I see the ortho Doc's Physician Assistant.

The Triumph will get the nod as it weighs 175 lbs less than the FJR and the Triumph's wider bars require much less counter steer strength. Those who say the FJR's weight disappears once under way are riding on very smooth pavement, are in better shape than moi, or have not been aboard a well mannered mid weight motorcycle recently. The question is will riding the Triumph cause shoulder inflammation or cause more damage to my credit card? I don't know but I am getting ready to find out. :D
