Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
IMHO, you can use vac or pressure bleeders all you want (not 100% reliable in my experience, the vacuum ones anyway), but in the end, you need to finish off with a conventional squirt.... and Speed Bleeders do not allow backflow of air or fluid from your bleed hose. The threads are sealed and there's a spring-loaded ball in the bottom..... However, the system must be full of fluid ahead of time, as that ball valve needs to see some fluid pressure to work. I love SpeedBleeders, nothing better IMHO.

So what if it sucks air around the bleeder threads? This air doesn't get in the system. And if you really don't like it put a dab of grease around the threads. Thick grease is not going to be sucked in and will block entrance of air.Toter wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 9:47 am I have one of these, but find it difficult because it seems to pull air in through the threads of the bleeder. They are great for replacing fluid, as they can quickly suck out the old fluid from the MC without a mess, as well as pull fluid through quickly. They are especially nice for doing an auto or truck, where there is a lot of fluid to move.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Am too lazy right now to download the manual from HF but IIRC the bleeder wants 65 or 100 PSI. If your pancake compressor can sustain those pressures then all is fine. I doubt it, the bleeder requires a large amount of air.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I've done that, but still gotten a steady stream of air. It's not a big deal, I use it when replacing fluid. Even though bubbles are showing, I know it's bled due to the amount of fluid moved through.N4HHE wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 8:27 pmSo what if it sucks air around the bleeder threads? Got my oil and filter swapped yesterday and bent my shift lever back to the correct location (bent by a large rock on the Dalton Highway last month). Putting the bike away for 4 weeks while we head up to our cottage in Ontario for some late season fun, but at least the bike is now fully serviced post-AK and ready for EOM next month!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I rode my '23 FJR today. What a POS! After 44 days and 8,000 miles of riding one of my '09 FJRs all across Europe with it's Ohlins shock, Racetech fork springs and valving, simple throttle lock and bonding with that FJR after basically living on it for 6 weeks............
I got on my '23 FJR with POS car tire, crappy ES suspension, and complicated electronic cruise control and I was like ACK!!! What is wrong with this POS???? In 6 weeks all '23 FJR muscle memory was gone....
I am slowly adjusting back.........

Yep. Aftermarket suspension and a motorcycle tire on back is the sweet spot. But go ahead and and adjust to the car tire...cuz that's you.SkooterG wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 3:30 pm I rode my '23 FJR today. What a POS! Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I may have a use for the 17 ES. My wife came home a couple of day ago and said we need to buy a snowbird home in the Phoenix area in a 55+ community to enjoy the socialization opportunities. I was shocked. We talked about these over the years and she always said no. We agreed to try out this lifestyle choice by renting in Surprise AZ for 3 months this winter. If we end up with a second home the FJR will have a new home.
