Haven't washed mine either. Never seen it so black around the swing arm and final drive. Tomorrow is to be great weather, hoping I can get out for a few hundred miles despite my back stkll aching from EOM.

BkerChuck wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2024 8:28 am Rode mine to work. It really needs washed. Coming home from EOM we were in rain for about 200 miles and it's been raining daily in my area ever since so I haven't had the chance to properly wash it yet.

Because I couldn't make it to Tech Day in Ohio I decided to move some more electric stuff from my older FJR to the new to me FJR. Plastics all over the floor fasteners in plastic cups. Ran out of time . Both bikes still missing plastics on . Thinking I need to back in and check to see where I hooked up the trigger for the Eastern Beaver fuse box.

Rode it yesterday 100 miles and found myself near B&B motorsports in Lancaster. Stopped in by chance they could inspect the bike. Walked out 40min later with a sticker and a few oil filters for the shelf. An absolutely perfect mid 70s riding day. Not a lot of miles but better than sitting on the couch.

Learned recently about a Sunday Bike Breakfast gathering in Poolesville, MD from a friend through FB and met him so he could show me exactly where it's held. They feature a "marque" each month and today was Italian bikes. My buddy Blaine Paulus met me roughly halfway there and led the way. Saw some stuff I hadn't ever seen on the street before.

When we first arrived.

Image

We arrived about 9:30 and bikes were coming and going still when I left around 11.

Crazy modded V-max was one of about 6 in attendance.

Image

Honda CX650 Turbo with 13k miles on it. Spoke to the owner, he started with one but bought 3 more in the effort to get the best original parts then sold off the parts bikes. He claims one went to Jay Leno.

The Italian row.

Roughly 250 miles for the day.

Replaced all the front brake pads.

The linked ones on the right side were pretty much gone. The rest probably could have made it until Christmas, but I didn’t feel like nickel and diming it, and didn’t want to run OEM and EBC HH mixed.

Loaded it up for Barber Vintagefest this weekend.
But first some riding in N GA.

Even as a Floridian that grew up with hurricanes I am surprised by the damage I am seeing in SC. I dropped south of the flooding, but am seeing lots of wind damage. I am almost 400 miles from were the storm hit land.

Its crazy. The locals say they've never seen winds this high up here. That with the12" of rain before and during the hurricane meant an enormous quantity of toppled mature trees for hundreds of miles around.

Have fun over at Barber!

DanH600 stopped by Monday on his way to the BMW Motorrad Vintage races at Barber Motorsports Park. We rode the N. Georgia twisties Tuesday. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Besides coming across some unexpected repaving on the decrepit section of Doublehead Gap, we were able to enjoy all the tasty roads. Had some great BBQ at BubbaQ, and enjoyed some excellent Oaklore Four Grain Bourbon. Great riding and hanging with Dan.

Inconvenience not withstanding, very glad to read that Doublehead Gap road has been repaved. That is a very good road to ride.

The left lane was paved. So we just rode in it.😆

Packed and ready to head to my employers Western regional office tomorrow. 190miles. Unfortunately need to slab it to get there for my meeting. I'll be taking the long way home. Should be a 380 mile plus day tomorrow.

Took the FJR for a nice ride today. Nowhere special, just enjoying the sunshine and mid 70s. She's running so sweet!
