Between the doublewide and Marion, NC, scouted out the roads and route, confirming road conditions and GPS turn directions on some roads I had never been on, or hadn't been on since Helene destroyed area. Road conditions good and GPS directions worked appropriately. Thanks Duane/1911 for the route from summer of 2022.
Route northwards to EOM set...and its a doozy.

Got paid to ride it today. Work needed me to go to one of two locations. One was deep in the Dallas metroplex, the other was about the same distance on a semi-busy farm road two towns over. Farm road won and despite still being a smidge warm at 93F, I took the FJR over there. For some, 93F is a no go, for us however, that's the start of second riding season. Woohoo!

In northeast Ohio, when it's 93 it's also usually around 80% humidity ...that's when I enjoy the AC of the car.. But lately the temps have been perfect. Right around 50 in the mornings and mid 70s for the ride home.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:41 pm Got paid to ride it today. Work needed me to go to one of two locations. Rode it today with MediumJohnSD, Scott, Brad and ~G.
John brought a spare Cardo Edge for moi. As a result I will soon have a Sena S20 for sale. PM me if interested.
Today I am inclined to keep the FJR for touring duty. In sport mode the engine is awesome. Can't see giving it up for a boxer. Today.
Here are a few photos.

Diablo Lake, North Cascades Hwy.

Oysters on the half shell. Yummy!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Nice photos. I love the FJR engine. I was greatly saddened when someone stole my XS11 in 1980...thought I'd never have a better bike. 20 years later I bought an FJR just based on a brochure. When I got that thing on the road, a big smile lit up my face. I just didn't know at the time that it also came with some extremely awesome people.

Rode 447 miles including BBQ in Blacksburg, VA; some unknown dirt road and a flat tire. Great adventures abound if you just go find them

Got home this afternoon from a quick weekend in Johnstown, PA spent hanging out and riding with some good friends. The 2014 turned 80k on the ride home this afternoon so it got treated to an oil, filter, and final drive oil change in preparation for EOM.

Ordered a new set of tires and oil filter for the FJR. I was not planning on changing the tires for EOM, but I did not want to be that guy.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode it 300 miles up and 300 back to Michigan.
Big shout out to Tim. I had some issues with the electrical system associated with my aux lights. So I ran up to his house and we got to work Saturday night. Specifically the LED lights and the Skene controller. We traced the problems back to a LED that had water inside the housing that was causing the short. We thought the issue was mostly likely was my wiring skills. Turns out that was not the problem to both of our surprise. I learned quite a bit about how to use a multimeter and troubleshoot.
We had a good time at dinner. They picked a familiar burger spot and it was a hit. His wife and son came along and it is obvious he is a very smart kid. Trust me, deal with that age group everyday and he is gonna be running something big someday.
After buttoning it up this morning, we went for a little ride along Lake Michigan before we parted ways and I headed home.
I am again reminded how awesome this forum community is. Thanks again Tim.
