Pure torque, in probably 1st gear, doing maybe 40mph, just slammed the throttle open to get by some traffic in not much space. Front wheel came up. Naughty mcatrophy,

A little RTE with my brother in law (Harley Guy) about 180 miles. The food was so so. The ride was so good. Some good twisties some nice scenery. Great day although it got a little hotter than expected.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I know an FJR owner (not myself) who regularly lofts his front tire and complained mightily when the ECU was recoded during the transmission recall. RPM limits in 1st and 2nd were spoiling his fun.extrememarine wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 2:06 pm The FJR's inability to wheelie is not related to being equipped with shaft drive, rather it is directly related to the fact it has saddle bags and operated by "seasoned professionals" who know better.
(mostly)....
Perhaps I should call my dealer and ask if they are ever going to perform my transmission recall.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
The second reflash fixed the limits, raised it to 6000 rpm. FJR's are too heavy to be doing wheelies... abuse.

Swapped the hydration platform off and the floorboard back on. Removed the peg feelers. Installed the screen protector on the garmin xt. Took so long to arrive that I’d
forgotten that I ordered it.
My zumo xt IS the TFT screen that some folks complain about the fjr not having. I love it.

New rear tire, Pirelli Angel GT. Non-A spec. Honda dealer is still $32 wheel in hand whether I buy the tire from him or not.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Recently I installed the Heli Bridge and that is working out. I am feeling cramped in my knees and hips on the FJR these days. So I raised the seat. The last time I did this the bike had handlebar risers and it failed to improve ride comfort but the combination of the Heli Bridge and the increased seat height did the trick for my knees and hips without creating pain elsewhere. Yea! If this works maybe I can put off finding a different motorcycle.
The ride today was the Two Ferries ride.
It is a 75 mile slog to get to the good stuff. There is no traffic so it's not bad but I am spoiled. From Wilbur Washington I head north on Hwy 21.
The ferry is below so down I go along a very twisty but short stretch of road. It is rather scenic too. Makes the slog worth it.
The elevation at the the Keller Ferry is about 1300' and I go north along forest rat infested Hwy 21 to Bridge Creek where I take a right. Bridge Creek goes up to 4000 and the temperature goes down from 85 to 75.
The Bridge Creek Road has pretty good pavement by Washington State standards. In British Columbia Canada it would be on the pave it tomorrow list.
The FJR.
There are few views on Bridge Creek and even fewer cars. The speed limit is 35. It is ignored by all.
After crossing the second ferry temps are between 89-92 so I am going a bit quicker than usual to get home.
Mudget Lake.
About 240 good smiles on the FJR today.

Hope you had better luck than I did. I could not eliminate the bubbles from the one I bought. Exchanged it on Amazon - we will see what the replacement does.rbentnail wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 5:55 pm Installed protective film on my zumo XT. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Not my FJR, but had a local drop by with a '15 and did a complete rear end suspension service, lubed U-joint and driveshaft splines, lubed shifter linkage while we had it apart. Relay arm fortunately was in good shape for 50k kms, happy with that. ABS sensors seized in their openings (aluminum corrosion), so fixed that. Rear brake pads were at ~50%. Adjusted suspension settings, damping was at Yammy standard 12 clicks out, reset to 8. Buddy is not an aggressive rider and not a heavyweight. He's looking for an aftermarket seat if anyone has one to sell....
